Unacceptable sample types

• Wet mount preparations (with or without coverslip)
• Hair pluck samples
• Skin scraping with large amounts of flaky debris or hair
• Tape preps
• Bone marrow cytology for purposes of diagnosing hematopoietic disease are also not recommended as it can take a well-trained eye to determine which marrow cytology slides are best for evaluation (2 slides may not be sufficient).

Please Note

Slides with oil on them should never be placed into the scanner as the oil can easily damage the objective.
