Settings Overview
In this screen you can configure the General settings and the Audit Log Emails.
If you have made changes to these settings, Remember to click the Save button before leaving the System Settings.
General
View Studies using
Here you can configure how you would like the viewer to open. You can configure it to open in the Same Window, a New Tab, or in a New Window.
Same Window
The Viewer will open in the same tab.
infoWhen you use this mode, the Home button will be shown in the top right of the Viewer. Pressing this button will return you to the Study list.
New Tab
The Viewer will open in the same window, but will be in a new tab. This option lets you switch back to the study list while keeping the viewer open. You can close the viewer by closing the tab.
New Window
The Viewer will open in a new browser window.
noteThe browser window that is opened will not have an editable address bar and cannot have new tabs added to it.
cautionOn the Safari browser, this feature does not work. It will still open the Viewer in a new tab.
Logout idle users after
In order to prevent unauthorized access to the system, SmartPACS will automatically log out after a period of time. This setting controls how long that period of time is. The maximum is 1440 minutes (24 hours).
Accept searches from any application
When this option is enabled, the server will allow C-FIND requests from any Application Entity (AE).
Accept images sent by any application
When this option is enabled, the server will allow C-STORE requests from any Application Entity (AE).
Only accept uncompressed images
When this option is enable, the server will only allow Explicit VR Little Endian Transfer Syntax. This will prevent compressed images from being able to be sent to the server. By default this is unchecked.
Allow applications to download images using C-GET
When this option is enabled, it allows any application that supports C-GET to download images through C-GET.
Storage

Watermark
This section is where the image storage watermark settings can be configured. By default, Automatic Deletion is disabled. You can turn on Automatic Deletion by checking the Automatically delete studies to save disk space checkbox.

Root Folder
This is the location where the server stores DICOM Images.
When this is changes, SmartPACS will have to reset itself an my be offline for some time.
Viewer Root Folder
This is the location where SmartPACS saves cached images for viewing.
When this is changes, SmartPACS will have to reset itself an my be offline for some time.
The Cached images are deleted when this is changed.
Forwarding
This setting allows you to prioritize the order in which studies are forwarded based upon their Modality. Clicking on the Priority drop-down will show a list of Modalities. Select one to add it to the priority list. You can change the priority of a Modality by dragging it into its desired position in the list.
You can also click inside the priority list and manually enter a Modality. Confirm a manually entered modality by pressing the Enter
key or by opening the drop-down and selecting Add ...
. Once the Modality is confirmed, it will be displayed with a blue background.
This is applied to all DICOM destination nodes.
Automatic Updates
Smart PACS automatically checks for updates. By default, an update will install automatically on Any Day of the week at Midnight. By unchecking the Install updates automatically checkbox, you can prevent updates from installing automatically. You can configure the Day of the week and Time the update is installed.
You can also press the Check Now button to check for updates manually.
When you press the button, it will change to Checking...
If an update is found, and the Install updates automatically option is not checked. The button will change to Install Now. Pressing this button will start the installation of the update.
If an update is found, and the Install updates automatically option is checked. The system will immediately start installing the update.
When an update starts installing, the button will change to Installing. While the update is installing the button will animate.
When the update is complete, the page will refresh.
The server will be unavailable while the update is installing.
Backup and Restore
Smart PACS automatically backs up its database. Where you can configure the number of backups to keep, and the number of hours between backups. You can also restore the most recent backup by pressing the Restore. You can view a history of restorations that have been performed by pressing the History button.
When performing a Backup or Restore operation, DICOM transaction and viewing studies will be unavailable.
Backup
When a backup occurs, SmartPACS will wait for any outstanding transactions to complete. When they are complete, SmartPACS will stop processing transactions and create a backup of the Database. When this is complete, SmartPACS will begin processing transactions again. When the backup is complete, SmartPACS will delete the oldest backup.
Restore
To perform a restore, press the Restore button.

Select the Backup you would like to restore and press the Restore button. Pressing the Cancel button will abort the restoration.

Confirm you would like to start the backup by pressing the OK button. Pressing Cancel will abort the restoration.
When a restore occurs, SmartPACS will wait for any outstanding transactions to complete. When they are complete, SmartPACS will stop processing transactions. It will then restore the Database. After the Restore is complete, SmartPACS will Perform a Consistency Check. Images in the Database that are not on the disk, will be removed. Images that are on the disk, but not in the database, will be imported.
Once the restoration process is complete, press the OK or Cancel button to close the dialog. To view logs by pressing the Log button.
History
Pressing the History dialog shows a record of past restorations. You can press the Log button next to a record to view the associated logs. Press the OK button to close the dialog.
Download Queue
This item is not used.
Study List
The Automatically refresh data setting allows the user to define the frequency that the Study List will automatically refresh data from remote servers. When a remote server is selected in the query, the study list will refresh and check the remote server for new studies or additional images that fit the query.
Setting too quick of a refresh will use more system and network resources. Selecting a less frequent refresh option will have a longer delay before new studies are displayed automatically in the study list.
Checking Hide Owner Column will hide the owner column in the study list. This is checked by default. Un-checking this option will show the Owner Name column in the Study List.
Audit Log Emails

The Audit Log Emails allows you to add an email address for notification of system events. You can choose which events you want to be notified about: User, Archive, and System. There are three levels for each event, Info, Warning, and Error.
By default, smartpacsaudit@soundvet.com
is subscribed to User, Archive, and System Errors.
AIS Cloud
The section is not used. Synchronization Mode should always read Standalone.
