Performing a Treatment
Starting a Treatment
To start a treatment Press the Begin Treatment button
The treatment will begin on the currently selected Phase. Make sure you have the correct phase selected before you start a treatment.
Make sure you have selected all your treatment parameters. If you have not, the Laser button will be disabled.
The laser must be powered on and the Emergency Stop button released. If the software cannot communicate with the Laser, you will see the following:
The button will change to a yellow laser icon and warn you to put on you safety glasses.
Pressing the button again will start a countdown. After the countdown has completed the laser will be armed.
Preforming a Treatment
You can now preform the treatment on the patient. Press the button on the hand piece to energize the laser.
Do not press the button on the hand piece until the button says Status: Ready.
This will cause an error and cancel the treatment. This is a safety measure to ensure a user is in positive control of the hand switch. Release the hand-switch at the end of each phase and do not press again until you see Status: Ready on the treatment control again.
Be sure to keep the laser in motion during the procedure, as opposed to holding it in one place on the patient.
Visible and invisible laser radiation. Avoid eye and skin exposure to direct or scattered radiation. Class 4 Laser Product.
Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
Releasing the button on the hand piece will stop emission.
While the laser is energized, you will see the laser animate.
During the first phase the system will beep once per second while the laser is energized. During the second phase, the system will beep twice per second while the laser is energized.
The Phase and Total Timers will count down.
When the Phase Timer reaches zero, you will hear 4 rapid beeps to signal the end of the phase. You will need to release the button on the hand piece to move to the next phase.
Repeat this until all the phases are complete.
Canceling a Treatment
You can cancel a treatment that is in progress by pressing on the Laser button again. This will cancel the treatment and open the Treatment Notes Dialog. You can enter notes such as the reason for canceling the treatment here.
Pressing the Repeat Treatment button will save the notes the the treatment and leave you in the Treatment Screen with the same Treatment Protocol selected, ready to preform another treatment.
Pressing the Exit button will save the notes to the treatment and show a dialog confirming you want to leave the screen. Pressing NO will take you back to the Main Patient Screen. Pressing Yes will close the dialog and keep you in the Treatment Screen.
Treatment Notes
Once all phase have been completed, the Treatment Notes form will be displayed.
Here you can optionally add notes to the treatment that was just completed. Pressing the Exit button will save the notes to the treatment and return you to the Main Patient Screen.
Pressing the Repeat Treatment button will save the notes the the treatment and leave you in the Treatment screen with the same Treatment Protocol selected, ready to preform another treatment.
