Image Storage

Is there a way to back up data?

Vscan Air is not intended to be used as a data management system.

We recommend the regular export of images to either a shared network folder (jpg/mpg format) or DICOM® PACS. In the case of the latter, it is possible to initiate an automated deletion of images after confirmed delivery (via DICOM Storage Commitment). Otherwise, images must be deleted manually.

The images inside the Vscan Air app are not blocked from being backed-up by other backup solutions available through a mobile device vendor or 3rd party solution provider. These solutions, however, have not been validated by GE Healthcare.

Do images delete automatically?

You can choose to automatically delete data after export to a storage server. Read more in user manual, under 'Vscan Air Configuration', 'Auto Delete'.

What data export options are available?

Vscan Air comes with many data export options, like "Share with other apps", DICOM® server and Network shared folder. Learn more in the User Manual - 'Export data'.

Is there an “auto send” feature with DICOM or Network Share?

In the Vscan Air app you can select one or more favorite servers, where data will be exported automatically when connected to a network. Find more information in the User Manual - ‘Export Data’.

Does patient information come over on DICOM and Network file share?

Patient and exam data can be exported via DICOM® or Network file share. Find more information in the User Manual - ‘Export Data’.

Is there a way to block being able to share images through social media?

The Mobile Device Manager or mobile device settings themselves can limit the sharing of anonymized images with other mobile apps in order to configure the device to limit the "Share with other apps" functionality.

Can you turn off the archive option?

You can configure the data to be deleted automatically from the display device after exporting it to specified DICOM® Image Server. See more information in the User Manual - 'Auto Delete'.

Can we export to Tricefy?

Yes, but currently not as a seamlessly integrated solution. You can store images locally on your device and import images using the Tricefy web portal.

Does export to shared network folders work with Apple OS computers?

  • Vscan Air can export images to a shared folder via SMB v.3.0.
  • Such sharing capabilities are available on PCs of different operating systems, including newer versions of Windows and OS X.
  • Reaching a shared folder may be challenging when protective measures like firewall protection is enabled.
