Calibration (NZ Test)
This Calibration is more involved than the macro calibration described above and is needed when image quality appears consistently inferior (out of focus, etc).
When directed by a pathologist or tech support, select Settings from the main menu.
Select Diagnostics and then Launch NZ Test
A message will appear, but no action is needed. Continue to wait for a dialog box to appear (may take 30-60 seconds).
When the dialog box appears, click Shading correction
The user will be directed to load the calibration slide. This slide is provided in the cytology welcome kit and contains a series of lines and reflective surfaces. It is a delicate, expensive slide so please handle with care. Avoid fingerprints and only clean if needed with soft lens cloth or lens paper.
Load this slide into the scanner and close the door. Press OK.
This process takes 7- 8 minutes. Follow the instructions on screen when the process is completed.
Be sure to carefully store the calibration slide for future use.
