Acquiring Images

When you enter the Acquire Review Screen the next shot in the shot list without an image is automatically selected for acquisition. To select another shot, simply click or tap the desired shot.

tip

Are you a lefty? You can switch positioning of the review panel in the basic options tab of the settings screen. You can switch right to left for landscape mode, or bottom to top for portrait mode if you're using the software on a tablet.

Acquisition

When the detector is ready the radiation icon will appear solid and green. When you expose the detector the icon will begin spinning to show that the detector is busy acquiring the image.

When the acquisition is complete, the image will be assigned to the shot and shown in the review window. The next shot will automatically be selected for acquisition.

note

If you've acquired an image for every shot in your shotlist you can still acquire more! Subsequent images will be added to the end of your shotlist and acquired under the same Region, Anatomy, and View as the final shot in your shotlist. You can rename the shot to reflect the correct view once the image is acquired if you need to.

note

During acquisition, all controls are disabled. They will re-enable after the acquisition is complete.

Auto Crop

By default, shots for small animal species are cropped automatically by the software. If you don't like how the crop turned out you can press the crop button on the toolbar. This will undo the auto-applied crop and display the whole image, then you can recrop the image manually.

tip

This can be enabled or disabled for each shot in the Acq Profiles section of the Settings Screen.

Auto Crop Preview

With this setting enabled you will see the image uncropped with a blue dashed outline showing the crop the software intends to apply whenever you acquire an image. You can continue acquiring the images if you approve of the crop, or you can immediately draw a new crop rectangle.

tip

This can be enabled or disabled for each shot in the Acq Profiles section of the settings screen.

Automatic Window / Level

The software will automatically set the window and level of the image.

tip

You can set the default window and level of acquired images in the settings screen under Advanced Options.

Watermark Notification

The system will show a notification after acquisition if the system's disk usage is within 5% of reaching the High Watermark.

tip

The High and Low Watermark settings can be found in the settings screen under Advanced Options.
