Image Manipulation
There are three tools you can use to manipulate the image. Window/Level, Zoom, and Pan. These are enabled by default but can be disabled by tapping their associated button. Each of these functions behave slightly differently if you are using a mouse or a touch screen.
In addition, you can invert the image, automatically Window / Level to an ROI, and Crop the image.
You can revert your changes by pressing the revert button.
Revert
Pressing this button will revert the image back to the last saved state.
Window / Level
This button enables or disables Window / Level input. When it is enabled, use the left mouse button or touch screen to adjust the Window / Level of the image.
Mouse
Left Click somewhere on the image. While holding the left mouse button down, drag the mouse to change the Window/Level values. Dragging Up decrease Level, Down will decrease it. Dragging left will decrease Window, right will increase it.
Touch
Place two finger on the image and drag the to adjust window / Level. Dragging Up decrease Level, Down will decrease it. Dragging left will decrease Window, right will increase it.
Zoom
This button enables or disables Zoom. When it is enabled, use the mouse wheel or touch screen to Zoom the image.
Mouse
To Zoom the image, use the scroll wheel. Scrolling up will zoom in the image, Scrolling down will zoom out the image.
Touch
To Zoom the image, use a two finger pinch or spread gesture. Pinching your fingers together will zoom the image out, Spreading your fingers out will zoom the image in.
Pan
This button enables or disables Zoom. When it is enabled, use the right mouse button or touch screen to pan the image.
You can only pan an image if it is larger than the viewing area.
Mouse
To Pan the image, right click the mouse. While holding the right mouse button down, move the image around the screen.
Touch
To pan the image, simply touch the image with one finger and drag to move the image.
ROI
When you press this button, you enter ROI mode, this will allow you to draw a box on the screen around an area and adjust the window and level to the values in the selected region. The Window will be set to the difference between the largest and smallest pixel values in the region. The Level will be set to the midpoint between the Maximum and Minimum values.
For example, if the Maximum value in the ROI is 10,000 and the minimum is 1000, the Window will be 9000. The Level will be set to 5,500.
To end ROI mode by clicking on the ROI button again or select another button on the toolbar.
Invert
To invert the image, press the Invert Button. This will invert the colors of the image.
Inverted images will have the Pixel Representation Tag (0028,0103) set to MONOCHROME1 when exported as a DICOM image.
Non-inverted images will have the Pixel Representation Tag (0028,0103) set to MONOCHROME2 when exported as a DICOM image.
Crop
Press the Crop button to enter Crop mode. This will display the full image without any crop applied. A blue dashed border is displayed to mark the previously applied crop. Draw a new crop rectangle by pressing where you want to begin and dragging to the opposite corner. When you release, the crop will be applied to the image. To cancel Crop mode, you can press the Crop button again. Image rotation and reflection are maintained.
Cropping an image will remove any annotations that have been applied to the image.
